ACT-UAW (UAW Local 7902) New School Unit 2009 Bargaining Committee Election Notice of Nominations
Published February 26, 2009 The New School Unit of ACT-UAW (UAW Local 7902) will hold an election
for its Bargaining Committee in Spring 2009. The Bargaining Committee is the elected group that will negotiate the
unit's next contract with the university. It will consist of 12 members: two members from each of the following schools:
The New School, Parsons, Mannes; one member from each of the following schools: Lang, Graduate Faculty, Milano, and Drama
School; and two members At Large. A Bargaining Committee Member must be a member in continuous good standing
of the Local Union for at least six months. If you meet this requirement, you are eligible for election as a Bargaining Committee
Member, and you have already been automatically nominated. This is the only notice of nomination you will receive.
To run, you must accept the nomination in writing, delivered either by
mail (we recommend return receipt requested for proof of mailing) or by hand to: ACT-UAW
Executive Board 113 University Place, 6th Floor New York NY 10003 All acceptances must be received no later than 5pm on March 11, 2009. WE CANNOT ACCEPT
ELECTION NOMINATIONS OR ACCEPTANCES BY EMAIL, FAX OR PHONE. YOU CANNOT ACCEPT A NOMINATION OF THE BEHALF OF ANOTHER PERSON.
Your acceptance letter must include the following information: - Your
name
- Your email address
- Your home mailing address
- The school you would like to represent
or whether you would like to run "At Large"
- Today's
date

City, State Zip We urge all nominees to read and understand the Election Rules, which
are available on our website at http://actuaw.org/election_rules_09nsubc.html. If you have questions, please contact the Executive Board at mail@actuaw.org. Printed copies of this notice and the Election Rules are available by request. In addition to the automatic nominations
described above, any member may nominate any other members s/he desires. To nominate a fellow member, you must send notification
in writing, either by certified mail (return receipt requested) or by hand delivery, to ACT-UAW Executive Board, 113 University
Place, 6th Floor, New York NY 10003, by March 11, 2009. You must also notify the nominee, so that s/he will
be aware of his or her obligation to accept the nomination as described above. Failure to give the nominee notice will not
invalidate his or her nomination, nor excuse the nominee's obligation to accept before the deadline above. If a nominee
does not respond, it shall be deemed a rejection of the nomination. PLEASE DISTRIBUTE &
