Our contract with NYU calls for NYU to make pension contributions, beginning with the 2007-08 academic year. If you
taught at NYU during the Fall and/or Spring semesters of the previous three academic years (2005-06, 2007-06 AND 2007-08),
then in December 2008 NYU should have contributed 5% of your Fall 2007 and Spring 2008 compensation to your "Adjunct
Annuity Plan." You should have been automatically enrolled in the plan if you are eligible, and been allowed to choose
how your money is invested (the plan should offer the same investment options that are available to full-time faculty).
To
provide more information about this exciting new benefit and answer your questions, the NYU Benefits Office, in conjunction
with our union and representatives from Vanguard and TIAA-CREF, held a series of information meetings on September 9.
If
you were unable to attend, did not receive your contribution, or have other questions about this great benefit, contact our
NYU Unit: nyu@actuaw.org.
